The Massachusetts Termination Lease Letter Form is a readily available template which Massachusetts residents may use to satisfy the notice requirement when terminating a Month-to-Month Tenancy. The requirement is placed on the party wishing to terminate this type of agreement by the State of Massachusetts as a result of Massachusetts General Laws Part II, Title 1, Chapter 186. Here, when either Landlord or Tenant wish to terminate an At-Will rental agreement, he or she must issue a notice of this intent, making sure the recipient has read it a full thirty days before the desired termination date.

Providing this consideration as soon as possible will aid the recipient of this notice in finding a replacement without experiencing needless financial hardship. How to Write
Step 1 – Place a check mark in the check box next to the first paragraph on the page.
Step 2 – Refer to the Lease being terminated. Then on the first, second, and third blank spaces, enter the calendar day, month, and year (respectively) of that lease.
Step 3 – Keeping in mind this letter must be received a full thirty days beforehand, enter the calendar day, month, and year of the desired termination date.
Step 4 – Proceed to the bottom of the page. Sign your name on the line labeled as ‘Signature.”
Step 5 – Below this print your name on the blank line labeled “Print Name.”
Step 1 – Locate the second paragraph and place a check mark in the box next to it.
Step 2 – On the first, second, and third blank spaces, enter the calendar day, month, and year of the lease being terminated.
Step 3 – In the next paragraph, next to the line labeled “Street Address,” enter the street address, city, state, and zip code where the Landlord may send the security deposit. Make sure this address is accessible to you for the next several months in case there are any difficulties in gaining the full amount.
Step 4 – At the bottom of the page, sign your name on the line labeled “Signature.” Then on the line labeled “Print Name” print your name.
Step 3 – Next to the words “terminated on the,” report the calendar day, month, and year of the desired termination date. Make sure this letter must be received a full thirty days before the termination date.
